Tat Gıda Sanayi AŞ launched the “Dynamic Product Costing System Project” (DÜMS) using Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI. The goal was to manage demand processes related to new and existing products, automate product demand and recipe processes, track these processes through reporting, optimize the workflow and documentation from product cost requests to customer quotations, and enable users to directly see the impact of price changes on the cost of existing products.

Through this project, the company aimed to achieve:

  • Operational service excellence – measurable service efficiency
  • Cost reduction and predictable costs – alongside increased performance and efficiency
  • Speed and flexibility – rapid adaptation to fast-changing business needs
  • Ease of management – a single point of contact

Within the scope of the project, rather than maintaining in-house resources with expertise in every area, the plan was to use the required expertise at the right time and in the right amount, achieving both efficiency and cost advantages.

The structural goals targeted and prioritized for the Power Apps solution used in Tat Gıda’s “Dynamic Product Costing System Project” (DÜMS) were as follows:

  • Manage demand processes related to new and existing products
  • Automate product demand and recipe processes
  • Track product demand and recipe processes through reporting
  • Optimize the workflow and documentation from product cost requests to customer quotations
  • Enable users to directly see the impact of price changes on the cost of existing products

During the project process, interfaces were designed using the Power Apps application, while approval workflows and integration processes were built on Power Automate. Power BI, running on a Microsoft Azure Tables infrastructure, was positioned as the reporting database.

Actions / Functions

  • Recipe creation, material definition
  • Material cost and price definition
  • Cost approval, recipe cost reporting, raw material cost definition, activity entries
  • Activity entries (labor, electricity, Aslanoba, Gekap, etc.)
  • Master data definition, system management
  • Reporting / form approval / recipe approval, demand creation for new and existing products, running simulations

In the Dynamic Product Costing System Project developed for these activities, the goal was to simulate product demand, production, recipe creation, and costing for new products, access real-time data, and convert it into production with final approval from the R&D team. The project was successfully launched in a short period of time.
